Csurkulya József

He is descendant of a famous cymbalo-player family from Tirgu Mures. Cymbalo is a rare musical instrument, that he can play in an authentic way. He participated at Tirgu Mures State Folk Ensemble performances when he was just eight years old. He graduated at The Franz Liszt Academy of Music as chamber musician and cymbalo teacher. In 1999 he became a permanent member of the band Besh'o'droM and since January 2014 he has worked at the production called Spirit of Life Talamba as a cymbalo-player. He has also played on the concert recordings of the Emerton winner György Ferenczy, worked with the Cotton Club Singers, also played on one of the albums of Korai Örömök band, and also played on one of the disks marked with the name of DJ Cadik's Membrane band. Classical music, jazz and folk music can equally be found in his repertoire.
